COMMENCEMENT 2023 – The graduation of the first undergraduate cohort and Class of 2023
Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), an integral part of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), marked a significant milestone on September 24, 2023, by hosting the “Commencement 2023” graduation ceremony. This event celebrated the inaugural graduates of the Bachelor program in Management of Enterprise and Technology, emphasizing HSB’s commitment to global integration following its attainment of European education quality accreditation.
The Commencement 2023 was a momentous occasion, attended by approximately 140 new bachelors and masters across four programs: Bachelor in Management of Enterprise and Technology, Master in Management of Nontraditional Security, Master of Business Administration (HSB-MBA), and Master of Science in Business Management (MBM). The ceremony garnered participation from over 100 esteemed HSB lecturers, leaders, and staff members, alongside distinguished representatives from various departments in the Vietnam National University.
Distinguished guests from the academic and professional spheres of Vietnam graced the ceremony with their presence, including Colonel General, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Nam, former Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Lieutenant General, Professor, Ph.D. Nguyen Xuan Yem, former director of the People’s Police Academy. Additionally, leading businesses and partner organizations collaborating in training, research, and recruitment with HSB, such as Vietnam Electricity Group, Vietnam Petroleum Group, Samsung Display Company, Viettel Group Companies, Goertek Vina, TopCV, and numerous others, also attended the event.
HSB Commencement 2023 Introduction of the Academic Procession
Commencement 2023 showcased HSB’s enduring commitment to its core values and academic principles, with the Academic Procession overseeing the proceedings. The event featured captivating musical performances by HSB students, including a special appearance by guest singer Suni Ha Linh. The highlight of the ceremony was the solemn conferral of degrees upon the new masters and bachelors, conducted by a 14-member Academic Procession comprising leading professors and doctors from HSB and representatives from the academic department, student affairs department of the VNU.
Notably, during the ceremony, Colonel General, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Nam presented four pens engraved with his name to four outstanding new graduates, recognizing their exceptional academic achievements, resilience in overcoming challenges, and contributions to school activities. These graduates have not only assimilated specialized knowledge but have also demonstrated emotional intelligence (EQ), a criterion consistently emphasized by HSB in admissions and training activities.

In 2023, HSB embarked on a new chapter by introducing an exclusive graduation ceremony gown collection, designed by the renowned Linh Doan.
Addressing the gathering, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB, expressed his joy at the ability to hold a graduation ceremony and confer degrees after more than two years of pandemic-related challenges. He extended his best wishes to the new bachelors, masters, and their families, emphasizing that HSB would always be their second home, ready to provide assistance and support whenever needed.

The nearly 100% employment rate of HSB’s new graduates is a source of pride, underscoring the institution’s mission of nurturing young talents through internationally acclaimed education standards. ACQUIN (Germany) has endorsed the quality of education provided by HSB, thereby contributing to the supply of high-caliber human resources and ensuring Vietnam’s sustainable development.
Valedictorian Luong Dang Khanh Luu, the recipient of a 4-year full scholarship, the Bachelor of Management of Enterprise and Technology, conveyed her thoughts at the Graduation Ceremony. She stated, “Today, as we hold our university diplomas, we reap the rewards of four years of dedication and personal growth. Regardless of our paths ahead, let us always remember the core values of HSB students: Health, Ethics, Will, Talent, Love, and Responsibility. These values and the invaluable lessons learned will forever guide us.”

The new bachelors and masters now join HSB’s alumni community, comprising over 13,000 members. 2023 marks a significant turning point for HSB, with all its training programs receiving international accreditation from ACQUIN, an organization that has accredited over 7,000 educational programs in 29 countries and territories worldwide. HSB has also gained official membership in the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the world’s top three business school accreditation organizations. As an official member, HSB is set to expand its collaboration with AACSB’s network and is poised for AACSB accreditation in the near future. HSB’s dedication to international integration and its partnership with renowned global educational institutions, such as the University of Queensland (Australia), Massey University (New Zealand), the University of Albany, State of New York (USA), reaffirms its position as a trailblazer in interdisciplinary research and training.
With each cohort of students, HSB remains committed to upholding international higher education standards, cementing its role as an innovator and pioneer in interdisciplinary research and education. HSB’s vision is set on achieving a ranking within the Top 100 in Asia by 2030 and the Top 500 in the World by 2045, aligned with its mission and strategic objectives.
