PhD Candidate Mai Viet Dung Successfully Defends Doctoral Dissertation at the Vietnam National University (VNU) Level

On March 18, 2026, Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University successfully held the doctoral dissertation defense for PhD candidate Mai Viet Dung, majoring in Management and Sustainable Development (DMS). 

The dissertation, entitled “The Impact of Hybrid Work on the Performance of Generation Z Employees in Vietnam,” addresses a highly topical issue, examining the growing trend of hybrid work – a model that has become increasingly prevalent in the context of digital transformation and the post-pandemic era.

The research findings indicate that hybrid work has a positive impact on the performance of Generation Z employees. It also contributes to enhancing job satisfaction, improving organizational communication, and significantly influencing employees’ perceptions of job security.

In addition, the dissertation highlights differences in how male and female employees experience hybrid work, thereby offering important managerial implications for organizations.

The study not only contributes to the theoretical development of human resource management and sustainable development but also provides practical insights to support organizations in designing flexible work policies that align with the characteristics of the young workforce.

The successful defense marks a significant milestone, reflecting the candidate’s perseverance, rigorous research mindset, and strong academic commitment.
