On the morning of January 31, 2026, Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB) – VNU, held the HSB Village Festival 2026, an annual traditional cultural event rich in Vietnamese identity. The festival clearly reflected HSB’s educational philosophy of integration and sustainable development.
Over more than 30 years of continuous innovation and reform in developing internationally accredited academic programs, the HSB Village Festival has become a unique cultural symbol of HSB. With student capacity building and skills development as a top priority, HSB aims to educate generations of learners toward a happy and successful future. Taking place just before the Lunar New Year, the festival is a meaningful occasion for faculty members, staff, alumni, students, and partners to gather, connect, share, and strengthen relationships in the warm spirit of the HSB family.
In the week leading up to the HSB Village Festival 2026, many exciting activities were organized, including HSB’s Got Talent and the Check-in Photo Contest. These activities created a lively atmosphere and encouraged creativity among lecturers, staff, and students. During the festival, a variety of experience booths were set up, featuring traditional games, photo areas, New Year calligraphy, and folk-style activities. These activities brought joy and a strong spring atmosphere to participants. Through this program, the HSB Village Festival helps preserve Vietnamese cultural values and supports students in learning about the nation’s long-standing traditions. The event is also an opportunity for HSB to express gratitude to educators, partners, students, and parents who have supported the School over the years.
Educating Through Traditional Culture
In the context of globalization, where young people are increasingly influenced by international culture and may gradually lose connection with traditional values, the HSB Village Festival plays an important educational role by reminding students of their cultural roots. The HSB Village Festival 2026 recreated a lively Northern Vietnamese folk festival space with many activities, including creatively designed traditional games, a Tet food area, calligraphy writing and gifting at the beginning of the year, and cultural experience booths. These activities not only created a joyful spring atmosphere but also helped young people better understand and appreciate Vietnamese cultural values in modern life.
A highlight of the festival was the opening art performance, featuring traditional art forms such as festival drumming, Cheo, and Chau van, performed by professional artists from the Military Cheo Theatre. Notably, the Chau van ritual related to the Mother Goddess Worship belief stood out as a special feature unique to the HSB Village Festival. This sacred ritual expressed wishes for peace, good luck, and prosperity for the entire HSB community in the new year.

Welcoming the New Year with Knowledge – A Unique HSB Tradition
One of the most distinctive traditions of the HSB Village Festival is the New Year opening ritual through a traditional parallel sentence written by Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB. Beyond a New Year greeting, this ritual carries strong academic meaning, sharing HSB’s vision, goals, and direction for the coming year.

In his speech at the event, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB, emphasized:
“HSB aims for sustainable development through lifelong learning and continuous self-improvement, while building strong connections based on institutional culture and Vietnamese national identity. As we grow and integrate globally, we must always remember our origins, our ancestors, and preserve the traditional cultural values of our nation.”
Within the warm and friendly atmosphere of the festival, HSB also organized meaningful academic and human-centered activities. Faculty members and students congratulated Rector Hoang Dinh Phi on his official recognition as a Professor. This was an important milestone for HSB and a source of pride for the entire HSB community, reflecting the strong leadership that has guided the School through continuous innovation and development.
Gratitude and Encouragement
As part of the HSB Village Festival 2026, the Gratitude Ceremony was held as a meaningful highlight, reflecting the Vietnamese tradition of remembering and appreciating those who contribute to success, as well as the strong sense of unity within the HSB community. This ceremony allowed HSB to express sincere thanks to generations of educators, organizations, businesses, and partners who have supported and accompanied throughout its development.

Through commemorative medals, the Board of Management of HSB honored individuals and organizations for contributions to education, scientific research, and practical engagement. The ceremony reaffirmed a shared commitment to building a humane, creative, and sustainable academic environment.

In addition, the festival placed strong emphasis on recognizing and encouraging students with outstanding achievements in 2025. Awards were presented to student groups who achieved excellent results in academics, scientific research, creativity, community activities, and academic–artistic competitions. These included the Champion title of “Sinh viên thế hệ mới” (VTV3) and two student groups receiving Outstanding Research Paper awards at academic conferences. These recognitions reflect HSB’s consistent educational philosophy of developing well-rounded students with knowledge, talent, and social responsibility, closely linking education with culture and sustainable development.
Together with the School, the HSB Alumni Club (AC-HSB) continued to play an important role in connecting generations by providing practical support for students. At the festival, the Alumni Club presented meaningful awards to encourage, motivate, and inspire younger HSB students in their learning and personal development journeys. The active involvement of alumni not only strengthens community responsibility but also represents a lasting cultural value of HSB.
Celebrating Spring Together
Beyond the formal ceremonies, the HSB Village Festival 2026 continued with a lively cultural exchange program featuring performances selected from the annual HSB’s Got Talent competition. The Grand Final of this student creativity program took place on January 29, 2026. The diverse and energetic performances brought a youthful and refreshing atmosphere, clearly showing the confidence, creativity, and dynamic spirit of HSB students. Through HSB’s Got Talent, students are given opportunities to showcase their artistic abilities while also developing confidence, stage skills, and a strong sense of belonging to the HSB community. This cultural exchange program became a vibrant highlight of the festival.
Over the years, the HSB Village Festival has grown into a signature cultural and educational event, connecting past and future, tradition and modernity, and Vietnamese identity with international integration. In the context of deep global integration, the festival not only helps preserve national cultural values but also allows HSB to present itself as a forward-thinking, humane, and culturally rich university to both domestic and international partners.
Sharing joy from the achievements of the past year, the colorful atmosphere of the HSB Village Festival sends HSB’s sincere wishes for a New Year of Peace, Prosperity, and Success to all members of the HSB family, partners, and friends.
