Victoria University and Hanoi School of Business and Management team up for world-class international business degree

On February 27, 2025, the Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University (VNU) hosted the Launch Ceremony of the Joint Bachelor’s Program in Business (Marketing & Business Analytics) in collaboration with Victoria University (VU), Australia. This transnational education partnership aims to provide Vietnamese students with access to a world-class education right in Hanoi.

Victoria University (VU) is the top-ranked educational institution in the state of Victoria, Australia and is ranked among the top 2% of universities worldwide according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. VU is renowned for its excellence in Education, Computer Science, Business, and Economics. VU has played a pioneering role in transnational education partnerships in Asia for over 30 years and is now one of the largest providers of Australian qualifications outside of Australia.

VU Vice-Chancellor Professor Adam Shoemaker said he was thrilled with the opportunity to share the VU Block Model with HSB. “With over 6000 students studying our programs with partner institutions in Asia, we are committed to providing accessible world-class education. This partnership and our long-standing engagement with Vietnam is testament to that. Staff and students will experience first-hand our revolutionary approach to teaching and learning in their home country. VU is looking forward to welcoming the first cohort of students seeking an international business degree in 2025” Professor Shoemaker said.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB noted that there is rising demand for graduate business skills in competencies such as business analytics, logistics and supply chain, digital marketing and information technology – all strong components of VU’s offering. “Through a strategic partnership with such a globally reputable institution as Victoria University, we create more opportunities for our students,” said Associate Professor Hoang Dinh Phi, “This cooperation embodies our vision of helping the students to learn from all sides and by all means to improve industry-relevant skills for their career development in the new era of Vietnam’s rise. We are confident this program will equip future business leaders and managers with the knowledge and capabilities to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.”

Speaking at the event, Ms. Freya Kaine, Counsellor for Education and Research at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, expressed her delight at the growing cooperation between Australia and Vietnam, particularly through educational partnerships such as the Bachelor of Business joint program between Victoria University (VU) and Hanoi School of Business and Management, VNU (HSB). She highlighted that this collaboration marks an important milestone in the deepening relationship between the two nations, as well as between the two universities. This partnership serves as a bridge to bring Australia’s modern education to Asia in general, and Vietnam in particular. Through this program, Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to access international-standard learning methods provided by Australia, right in Vietnam, without the need to study abroad.

As part of the launch event, a Panel Discussion was held on “The Growing Importance of Business Analytics and Digital Marketing in Modern Business Strategy.” Speakers from HSB, Victoria University, and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam provided insights into the rising demand for professionals in digital marketing and business analytics, as well as detailed information about the Bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing & Business Analytics).

According to a recent report by Mercer and Talentnet, over the past three years, the demand for Marketing and Communications roles has increased by 21%, while Business Analytics roles have grown by 32%. Similarly, a report from TopCV, one of the leading job search platforms for young professionals, also indicates that demand for Business Analysts has risen by 12%. This data underscores the urgent need for training in these fields to meet current societal and economic demands.
