Workshop on research methods for students’ graduation theses

On the morning of July 4th, 2024, at Vo Nguyen Giap lecture hall, a research workshop was held with the participation of the HSB’s lecturers and researchers from various fields. The event aimed to share and exchange experiences on scientific research methods and modern data analysis tools.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Ngọc Thang, Vice Rector, delivered the opening speech of the workshop

The workshop topics were led by the school’s experienced and passionate lecturers:

  • Dr. Truong Minh Duc: Shared insights on surveys, research questions, and analytical frameworks. Dr. Duc emphasized the importance of formulating clear research questions and logical analytical frameworks to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the research.
  • Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: Presented on EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis) and CFA (Confirmatory Factor Analysis). Dr. Tuan provided detailed knowledge on factor analysis methods, helping lecturers understand how to use them in research and teaching.
  • Dr. Emmanuel Plan: Discussed data analysis tools and software. Dr. Plan introduced modern tools such as SPSS, AMOS, and R, and demonstrated how to apply them in data analysis.
  • Dr. Nguyen Quynh Huy: Shared insights on building econometric regression models. Dr. Huy highlighted key considerations in constructing and validating regression models to ensure the accuracy and reliability of research findings.

The workshop provided valuable knowledge and skills, enabling lecturers to integrate research tools into their lectures effectively. Additionally, lecturers were equipped with methods and techniques to guide students in their graduation theses, ensuring that students could apply modern research tools and processes in their work.
