1.HSB’s entry requirements
Target applicants:
Graduate from high school or hold an equivalent international diploma recognized in Vietnam.
To be eligible for admission to HSB programs applicants must:
- Application and EQ assessment: Candidates must pass the initial screening round, including academic assessment, personal statement, and EQ test.
- Minimum entrance score: The minimum score requirement varies depending on the high school graduation exam results or other criteria (such as IELTS, VNU-HSA, and international certificates).
- Health requirement: Applicants must meet the standardized health requirement.
(*) To be eligible for the Bachelor in Management and Security (MAS) applicants must meet additional entry requirements:
- Academic performance: A minimum of “Average” for all 3 years of high school;
- Conduct: A minimum of “Average” for all 3 years of high school.
2.Admission methods
HSB employs various admission methods to expand opportunities for candidates:
- Method 1 (Code 301):
Direct admission and priority admission following the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) regulations, applicable to students who have achieved high distinctions in national and international competitions.
- Method 2 (Code 303):
Direct admission following VNU’s specific regulations, targeted at students from specialized high schools or candidates who have won awards in provincial/municipal academic competitions.
- Method 3 (Code 401):
Admission based on the VNU-HSA scores, requiring a minimum threshold score.
- Method 4 (Code 410):
Admission combining an IELTS score of at least 4.5 with high school scores in other subjects within the selected combination.
- Method 5 (Code 500):
Admission based on international certificates including A-Level, SAT, and ACT or the HCMC National University Competency Assessment.
- Method 6 (Code 100):
Admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam result (HSB accepts the substititution of high school graduation exam English scores with equivalent international English proficiency certificates, such as IELTS, TOEFL, …
3. Admission process
The admission process is divided into three main rounds, with specific criteria for each:
- Round 1:
Screening of application and essays; candidates must submit a complete application including academic records, personal documents, recommendation letters (if any), and a personal statement. The committee evaluates based on academic potential, essay quality, and supporting achievements. Candidates need a minimum score of 60/100 to pass this round.
- Round 2:
Emotional intelligence (EQ) assessment through an interview or self-introduction video requires candidates to use English for at least the last 30 seconds. Candidates need a minimum score of 70/100 to qualify the selection round.
- Round 3:
Final selection based on chosen admission methods from the initial application, including high school graduation exam results, competency assessment, or international certificates. Results are announced within 10 working days from the end of each round.

In 2024, HSB plans to admit students to four programs with the following quotas:

5. Priority and scholarship policies
- Priority admission:
Reserved for candidates with high rankings in national or international academic competitions, or achievements in creativity and science fairs.
- Scholarship for freshmen:
+) HSB provides scholarship raging from 30% to 100% of the first-semester tuition fees for incoming students, prioritizing those with financial difficulties or outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.
+) Full conditional scholarships:
Available for students from disadvantaged backgrounds with a commitment to repay the tuition fees to HSB Scholarship Fund within 10 years after graduation.

7. International transfer opportunities
Students could transfer to international partner universities in the US, Australia, and New Zealand if they maintain excellent academic performance in the first two years at HSB. This allows students to gain international exposure and expand their career prospects upon graduation.
8. Special admission policy for international applicants
International applicants: Must meet Vietnamese language and English proficiency requirements set by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to ensure adequate comprehension for studying in Vietnamese at HSB.
9. Admission schedule and application submission
- Application period: First period from March 1, 2024, to July 22, 2024. Supplementary period will be announced if there are additional vacancies.
- Result announcement: Final admission results will be announced at each round’s completion and the list of successful candidates will be posted on the school’s official website
