On 7th Sep 2013, Hanoi School of Business (HSB) under Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU) organized a teaching seminar on the topics of “Technology, Innovation and Commercialization” lectured by Prof. Dr. Damian Hine from the University of Queensland School of Business (UQBS), Australia. This is a specialized teaching workshop implemented within the framework of cooperation between HSB and UQBS. Attending the workshop were Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Dean of HSB, the faculties, students and other guests.

This is a specialized teaching workshop implemented within the framework of cooperation between HSB and UQBS. Attending the workshop were Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi, Dean of HSB, the faculties, students and other guests.
In the morning, Prof. Dr. Damian was lecturing on the management of technology, innovation and commercialization of scientific research results with the focus and a toolkit of “12 steps to commercialize the research result”. In the afternoon, Prof. Dr. Damian continued introducing on “technology transfer” from universities to enterprises and from the firms to organizations and communities… Many interesting case studies about technology transfer in Australia and some other countries have been introduced by Prof. Dr. Damian.
The teaching seminar was excited by exchanges between Prof. Dr. Damian Hine and the HSB faculties and students who were interested in the issues of technology transfer. The faculties and students of HSB shared the difficulties in the teaching, consultancy and implementation of the technology transfer in Vietnam, especially those projects of joint research and technology transfer for SMEs. Prof. Dr. Damian had made suggestions on the basis of the knowledge and practical experience of his teaching, research and consultancy. The exchange also opened up a lot of opportunities for consultancy and interdisciplinary research that HSB and UQBS could cooperate on the long-term.
Ending this important teaching seminar, Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi thanked and highly appreciated the knowledge and the insights that Prof. Dr. Damian Hine had shared with HSB faculties and students. Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi proposed and Prof. Dr. Damian Hine together with UQBS had agreed to continue supporting HSB in its efforts of enhancing research and teaching capabilities for lecturers participating in interdisciplinary programs at HSB.
